The two international airports in Montenegro – Podgorica and Tivat – meet basic aviation requirements and have reserve runway and landing strip capacity.

How to get to Kotor, Persat and Risan in Montenegro ?  
 

ARRIVING TO KOTOR - BY PLANE - AIR TRAFFIC

Montenegro is an air destination with very frequent charter flights during the tourist season.

Montenegro has wo international airports, Tivat (23 km away) Podgorica (60 km away).

The flight companies “Montenegroairlines” and “JAT” manage scheduled flights, while a couple of other companies organize flights to Podgorica or Tivat.

Also very close is the croatian Airport Ćilipi-Dubrovnik (90 km away from Kotor) and connects Kotor, Budva and Herceg Novi with domestic and international destinations.

The Dubrovnik airport has an excellent connection to Montenegros border which is just 20 km far away. British Airways has flights everyday to Dubrovnik from London Gatwick or Heathrow.

The airlinesa Malev, Adria Airways, Fisher, Aeroflot, TUI Fly (HLX), LTU, Austrian Airlines, Siberia Airlines and some russian flight charter companies (Vodka Bombers) operating a frequently transfrer from easten and western Europe to the Montenegrin aiports or Dubrovnik.

Also Croatia Airlines, Thomson, Flybe and AVRO/Cosmos fly direct to Dubrovnik from UK airports.

By BOAT & FERRIES

By boat: Port Bar, Port Budva, Port Kotor, Port Zelenika, Port Risan

You can also get to Montenegro via Dubrovnik by ferryboats from Bari (Italy) or from Rijeka and Split, Croatia's biggest ports at the Adria.

The Ferries Jadrolinija is connecting Rijeka, Split, Dubrovnik and many other places in between, and offer an excellent opportunity to enjoy a beautiful trip and having a unforgetable view to thousands of small islands.

Dubrovnik Main Station to Kotor are 7:00 and 10:30 AM (Gate No 3)

Arrival times from:

Kotor to Dubrovnik are 13.30, 17:15 and 21:15 (Main Bus Station Kotor)

The bus connection from Dubrovnik, Podgorica and Tivat Airport are professional and safe. Most international buses departing from Belgrade, Vienna, Frankfurt, Rijeka, Dubrovnik or Split.

The exchange of other foreign currencies is carried out at the counters of business banks and currency exchange offices.

Currencies (US $, Euros and ohters) can be exchanged at banks, exchange offices, post offices and mostly at tourist agencies, hotels or camping grounds.

Banking opening hours (depending on bank) are between 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Saturdays banks are open until 1 p.m.

Credit cards: Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, VisaElectron/Mastercard, Visa, Sport Card International).
