 Perast Habour

Along the Bay of Kotor - Mountains, Sea, Monumentals

Crystal clear water and incredible views.

Kotor has a mild Mediterranean climate, crystal clear sea water, small quitel stony beaches, rich flora and fauna, are the reasons having an unforgettable vacation at the Bay of Kotor.

The bay of Kotor has its geological structure from several smaller broad bays, which are united by narrower channels, forming one of the finest natural fjord in Europe.

The bay it self was formerly a river system. Very intensive tectonics and karstification processes led to the disintegration of this river. After heavy rain the famous waterfall of Sopot spring at the city Risan appears, and Škurda, another large spring system runs downhill  the canyon from Lovćen and ending in Bay of Kotor.

Travellers will find many interesting places along the shores of the Fjord of Kotor. Visit Herceg Novi with its Orthodox convent of St. Sava nearby (Savina monastery) standing amid beautiful gardens. It was founded in the 16th century and contains many fine specimens of 17th century silversmiths' work.

On the way form Kotor, Orahovac to Risan, is a Benedictine monastery on a small island close to the most beautiful historic city of Montenegro called Perast (Perasto). Perast itself was for a time an independent state in the 14th century and was famous for its sailer and boot fleet.
