Lord Byron one of the most famous british romantic poets discribed Montenegro in the 19th century:

"'At the birth of our planet, the most beautiful encounter between the land and the sea must have happened at the coast of Montenegro. When the pearls of nature were sown, handfuls of them were cast on this soil." June 1872.

Kotor is  a typical Mediterranean travel destination with old narrow streets, romantic bars and restaurants, small shops, antique monuments, churches and picturesque buildings. Famous poets and writers like Bernard Shaw, Lord Byron or Ivo Andric got inspired by the beauty of the Bay of  Kotor.

Kotor is a center of sailing, yachting and boating since the 12th century. Today Kotor is an outstanding centre of tourism and sailing.

Kotor is declared as a Unesco World Heritage and has a fantastic micro climate.

Flora and fauna in Kotor are similar to all other coastal towns in Montenegro. In Kotor there are palm trees, oleanders, mimosas and wild and domestic pomegranates, figs, oranges, mandarins, grapes and olive trees. Rare examples of flowers and decorative trees are cultivated there.

Foreigen Currency Regulations


Foreign citizens can bring into Montenegro an unlimited amount of foreign currency which has to be declared when entering the country.

You are allowed to take out of Montenegro foreign currencies amounthing to not more than 1 000 € unless you have declared more money at customs entering Montenegro.

The exchange of other foreign currencies is carried out at the counters of business banks and currency exchange offices.

Kotor is an enchanting town at the foot of the majestic Lovcen massif. In spring and autumn, the town has stunning sunset views. Kotor is a maze of small streets and squares, but is small enough not to get lost in. The town is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site and is a picturesque with beautiful architecture.

There are good bus connections to Tivat, Cetinje, Podgorica, Budva and Herceg Novi. As a town that’s in the middle of the last major transitional economy in Europe, Kotor presents a number of excellent investment opportunities.

Most of the streets in Kotor are unnamed and are only know informally, by names such as ’Let Me Pass Street’ and ‘Square of Milk’, which can be confusing

No traffic is allowed within the town gates, so all luggage must be carried in. Kotor is one of the most expensive city in Montenegro.
